Madrid 360 and ZBE: what environmental label do you need to drive
Madrid has expanded its Low Emission Zones (LEZs) within the Madrid 360 plan. Before driving in the city center, it's advisable to know what environmental label your car has and where you can drive.
What is the Madrid 360 Low Emission Zone?
It is a set of zones where the circulation of the most polluting vehicles is restricted to improve air quality. The restrictions depend on the DGT environmental label of the vehicle.
DGT labels
- Label 0 (blue): Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with sufficient range. Maximum freedom of movement.
- ECO label: Hybrid and gas vehicles. Wide access to regulated areas.
- Label C (green): Newer gasoline and diesel engines. They can circulate in a large part of the city.
- Label B (yellow): older vehicles, with more restrictions.
- No label: The oldest ones, with very limited access.
What if I rent a car?
